1. Manually force the Turn Off the Lights Browser extension settings
Windows:
Create new registry item with action "update". Set values as follows:
- - Hive: HKEY_Local_Machine
-
- Key Path: Software\Policies\Google\Chrome\3rdparty\extensions\bfbmjmiodbnnpllbbbfblcplfjjepjdn\policy
- - Value Name: SuppressWelcomePage
- - Value Type: REG_DWORD 32bit
- - Value Data: 1
The value show here "1", that mean that the value is true. And the user will see not the welcome and guide page on the first run. Futhermore, here is the complete list of the items you can use to manage this Chrome extension settings:
- "SuppressWelcomePage"

- That will show you not the welcome and guide page on the first installation.
- "AutoPlay"
- "type": "boolean"
- That will enable you the option to automatically dim the screen when the HTML5 video is playing and vice versa.
- "AutoStop"

- That will enable you the option to automatically block all the playing HTML5 videos.
- "AutoHD"
- "type": "boolean"
- That will automatically force the YouTube video to play your chosen video quality.
- "AutoHDQuality"
- "type": "string"
- Here you can choose the string for what is the highest video quality such as "highres", "hd4320", "hd2880", "hd2160", "hd1440", "hd1080", "hd720", "large", "medium", "small", "tiny", "default".
- "Block60FPS"
- "type": "boolean"
- That will block the 60FPS in the YouTube HD video.
- "NightModeSwitch"
- "type": "boolean"
- That will show you the night switch, to activate your custom dark theme on your open tab page.
- "MouseVolumeScroll"
- "type": "boolean"
- That will show you the volume meter inside the video player that when you scroll inside the video container.
- "VideoToolbar"
- "type": "boolean"
- That will show you the video toolbar inside the video player, that to take a screenshot, change the video filters, etc.
The Chrome Policy feature is only available in the latest Turn Off the Lights Chrome extension ("bfbmjmiodbnnpllbbbfblcplfjjepjdn") and Microsoft Edge ("fmamkbgpnienhphflfdamlhnljffjdgm") version 4.0.48.0 and higher.
2.1 Force-installing via group policy
Place this key in your registry file:
