It is Earth Day very soon. Many important environmental events have happened on Earth Day since 1970. That including the recent signing of the Paris Agreement, as Earth Day continues to be a momentous and unifying day each and every year. Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

Parallel to the Biden Administration’s global climate summit, EARTHDAY.ORG will have its Live digital event on its website. The global show begins at 12 PM Eastern Time.

Blink blink… and the year is almost on his end. It was an ultimate year with amazing updates for Turn Off the Lights. In the year 2018, you saw tremendous improvements in design and user experience. And we can’t wait for the 2019 updates that will blow you away. Here is a short overview from the Turn Off the Lights software update in the year 2018:

The Essential new things for Browser users

In April 2018 we created The Biggest Ultimate update for our web users. The Turn Off the Lights Options page has a completely different user interface, that is simple and responsive in all screen sizes (desktop, tablet, and mobile). That you experience the YouTube experience even better.
And with the support of the Dark Mode options page, so you see your settings on a not-bright page. But a darker theme that makes it more comfortable for your eyes.

In May 2018, we remember Global Accessibility Awareness Day, that disability users need a helpful tool, so they can experience the web in a less fearful way.

In September 2018, is Google’s birthday month but also to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Google Chrome web browser.

In October 2018, the Apple Safari extension received the same engine update, with the Double Click menu to easily change the dark layer opacity. And to enable quickly the Night Mode feature (custom panel to choose your own background, text, and hyperlink color).

The desktop dimmer app Turn Off the Lights for Desktop (for Windows 10) get a new update to have a more comfortable experience in a beautiful user interface, thanks to the Fluent Design System. For example, the Preference window is now updated with the new Acryl Material design. That gives you an accent of the context behind the window.

Desktop Dimmer App

Turn Off the Lights for Desktop is the desktop dimmer app to dims your whole screen and with an option to highlight that selected app on the top of the dark layer. So, you can keep concentrating on that important app (without any distractions around your desktop).

For example, you can focus the video player app from Windows (or other apps such as iTunes, VLC Media Player, Aurora Player, etc.).

Responsive Layout

The preference window is now sizable for each screen. Responsive on the size you make with the preference window. And with the right navigation bar, you can find fast and clearly the option you want.

What is also great is that it works with your light and dark theme in the Windows color theme.

Darker Right Click Menu

When you installed the app you see a white lamp icon left of your Windows clock. And with a single right click, you can customize the dark layer. Now, this context menu is a darker menu that is more comfortable for to click on a color or change the opacity of this dark layer.

Cloud Storage

Turn Off the Lights for Desktop use now the Roaming storage data. So with this new storage, it can sync the app data and settings to your Microsoft account. And whenever you log in to your new device, everything will be restored to your previous set settings.
